This piece is a self-portrait in which I exaggerated the lines and wrinkles on my face. I decided to draw this portrait as a way of taking one step closer to letting go of my fear of aging. At this young age, I find myself making conscious efforts to not move my face in certain ways that might promote wrinkles in the future. At times, I find myself being hyperconscious of every time I smile. This habit is further fueled by the world's obsession with facial beauty, especially in women.

I have instead decided to embrace the inevitable and see the beauty in becoming more physically mature and aging. This drawing represents the beauty of age and the blessing that comes with it.
